SPEECH BY FW DE KLERK AT A JOINT DINNER: NORTH-WEST UNIVERSITY AND GREENWICH SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY

CURRENT DEVELOPMENTS IN SOUTH AFRICA AND THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY
The next three months will be critical for the future of South Africa: they will show whether the country will be able to restore order and confidence following the recent shocking developments at Marikana and they will also witness the outcome of the ANC’s National Conference at Mangaung.
The decisions that will be taken at its National Conference will affect the future of the country for years to come. They will, in the first place, determine who our national leaders will be for the next five years. They will also indicate the direction in which national policy will move during the critically important period that lies ahead.
